Burghmuir Park, Bathgate - Tree Planting Consultation
0 %
West Lothian Council has received funding from Future Woodlands Scotland to increase tree planting in areas with low tree equity.

Tree equity means ensuring that everyone has access to the benefits trees provide, including shade, cleaner air, wildlife habitat and improved health and wellbeing, regardless of where they live.

Burgh Muir Park has been identified as one of the locations suitable for additional tree planting. It is important that any planting follows the principle of "the right tree in the right place". Parks and open spaces are used by a wide range of people for many different activities, and we want to ensure that any new planting complements these uses rather than restricts them.

At the same time, we want Burgh Muir Park to remain an attractive, welcoming space that benefits both the local community and wildlife. We are therefore seeking your views on the proposed tree planting to help us develop a scheme that delivers the greatest possible benefits for people and nature.
